I was born in Wyoming, grew up in Virginia, now live in Texas. Son of a Church of Christ preacher, went to Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth. I started playing guitar and writing songs “seriously” when I was 25. The first song I ever wrote was “Pawn Shop Guitar”, which found its way to my first album LOADED. That song is still the most requested song in my catalog of 50+ original tunes. I grew up being obsessed with rock & roll, then discovered country music in college, then blues, then folk music, and it keeps going on and on. I came to a point in my life where I had to play, whether anyone was listening or not. It seemed like the only way to keep from going absolutely insane. I got sime gigs, met some folks who supported me, and started recording. When I first started out, I had a plan and all that stuff that aspiring musicians tell people. But I soon realized I had no clue whatsoever about the music business. I lost my ass a time or two and learned some good lessons along the way. The main lesson being: I’m not in the music business. I’m in the business of writing, playing, and recording my songs and getting them to those who are interested by whatever means I like. It’s about good people who want to own my stuff and see me play live. I also learned that I love new technology and the means to get my music out fast and easy without having to adhere to any “industry standards”. After hundreds of shows all across the country, riding in vans and buses that smell like a trash can with band mates who smell worse, I feel like I have a good handle on what I want to do with this little music career of mine. I want to get you involved with what I do, hear your feedback, see you at the shows, and get you on board for the long haul. Hope to see you soon………..
